Version 1.5.1 of the FATpick app for Windows, Mac and Linux was released on February 11th, 2020.

You've always been able to add your own music to the FATpick catalog by importing Guitar Pro files.

This release is focused on improvements to all aspects of this song import process, from the parsing of Guitar Pro files to the generation of backing audio.

✨ New Features

  • A new, sample-based audio synthesis engine provides better and more realistic sounding backing audio.

🎁 Notable Enhancements

  • The import workflow has been redesigned to be more fault-tolerant, making song imports more reliable.

🐞 Bug Fixes

  • Jumping around to different sections of a song that is actively playing - especially when the jump is large or the song has a large number of distinct tracks (instruments) - would sometimes cause minor synchronization problems between tracks, causing the backing audio to sound a little bit "off". This problem has been fixed.

  • Guitar Pro scores with certain configurations of repeats with alternative endings were confusing to previous versions of FATpick. Those bugs have been fixed. Now FATpick handles even the most complex repeat/alt-ending sequences like a champ.

An unofficial Linux version is also available.
